A superb rare and interesting
watch by
IWC (International Watch Company
Schaffhausen ). This is an IWC Ingenieur
SL automatic self-winding wristwatch in
18 carat gold. The watch consisting
of a gold coloured dial with a fine
cross weave design with a cipher of
an Arabic Royalty ( the Sultan of Oman)
next to the 9 '0' clock position, 18
carat gold screw back case on 18 carat
gold IWC bracelet with locking clasp,
the 21 jewel self winding movement with
gold tipped Rotor (the weight of the
gold makes the rotor work more efficiently)
. The Ingenieur was developed by Iwc
to be highly resistant to strong magnetic
fields. This watch was presented as
a reward for good service to the sultanate
and as such there is an interesting
presentation inscription on the case
back. This watch would have been commissioned
by the Sultan and would have been ordered
with the sultans own Royal crest on
the dial from IWC. This watch is illustrated
in IWC's 1995 catalogue and retailed
then at £14650, this watch is very heavy
but does not look it. A real class watch
which is being offered for about the
same price as what a new stainless steel
Ingenieur would cost

Issue Omega stainless steel wristwatch,
consisting of original untouched dial, black Arabic hour markers, blued steel
hands, aluminium case with stainless steel

that it was issued to the British Air Ministry,
in around 1943. The watch in superb original
